Madness and Arts (1)

From 24 September - 3 October 2010 in Haarlem a remarkable festival will take place: The International Madness and Arts Festival Haarlem.
Previous festivals have been in Münster (2006) and Toronto (2003).
The festival will take place in many cultural venues in Haarlem with the Museum Het Dolhuys (The national museum of psychiatry) as the central hub during the festival.
The library in Haarlem is also an enthusiastic participant in the festival. An evening of poetry by poets such as Rogi Wieg, Co Woudsma and Ilse Starkenburg with a discussion about the effects of psychiatry on their work the evening coördinated by Frank Starik is being planned. Other Madness and Arts events in the library are being finalised as we speak.
In the coming months up to the festival I will regularly report on the developments of the Madness and Arts festival from the perspective of the library in Haarlem of course.
